Every wedding we photograph is a little different. Funny things (or crazy things) happen at every wedding. These defining moments stick in our head, and years down the road we say to each other, “Do you remember when?”
Well… this wedding will forever be known as the wedding where the bridal party almost beat the crap out of some dude.
IT WAS AWESOME.
So, we’re lining up for a group photo with the bridal party in front of the Garrison, which has a golf club. This golfer dude pulls up in the lane (we’re standing in the middle of this round about thing) and rolls up slowly. We wave him on so that he doesn’t have to sit there. He essentially stomps on the gas and ALMOST runs over Emily’s dress. The bridesmaids went into attack mode, and one of the groomsmen had words with the dude… and the dude had the nerve to try to have words back! I mean, obviously he can’t do math because there were WAY more of us.
In the end, he slinked into the golf club and we continued on with photos. But the bridal party fumed for a while afterward, and it was a great story that was retold all evening!
PS – Emily and James rented out the Officers’ Houses at Fort Harrison to stay in and to get dressed in. If you are getting married at Fort Harrison and/or The Garrison, I HIGHLY recommend this! The houses were so completely awesome and it was a great place for getting dressed. The houses are literally like 200 yards from The Garrison.
