Darlene and James | Downtown Indianapolis Engagement Session

These two are so fun! We spent the whole time laughing and joking and enjoying getting to know each other! I feel like James could be a long lost cousin that I like to harass. Hahaha! He’s definitely a jokester! And I think he makes Darlene laugh a lot, which is soooo important in a marriage!! I’m so excited for their wedding!

PS – It was freezing and windy. Darlene was a pro at pretending to be warm!

PPS – I had a lot of trouble picking the images for this post… so there are a bit more than I normally post!!

Franki and Richie | Indiana University Engagement Session

We love our bridal legacies, for lack of a better term. Franki is the sister of one of our past brides, Marsha! I’m so excited to see her get married… these girls really know how to pick husbands.

I LOVE how this session turned out!! These two are adorable! And I seriously have hair envy of Franki.

Poor Richie was having contact lens problems, so he had to wear his glasses. He normally doesn’t wear glasses, so he took them off during most of the session. However, like me, he is blind as a bat. I’m pretty sure he couldn’t see much of what was going on, which had to make this session QUITE interesting for him. Hahahah!

“Lifestyle Photography” is a relatively new term that has been coined in our industry, and I really love what it implies… that we should photograph people how they live, not in perfect poses on backdrops.

This session is a perfect example of this type of family photography! Kids, go karts, goats… that IS the Harcourt lifestyle.

Glad to see you guys again, my friends!

PS – Kolby and Ethan are already winning races on their go karts this season!

I was so excited to spend some time with these two, because we get to head to Jamaica with them in June! They even brought along their cute Cockapoo and Monica’s sister Nicole (as the dog wrangler.) We had so much fun getting to know them all and spending time exploring the canal area! We are going to have a great time together in Montego Bay!! Woot! We’re ready for more Patties and Red Stripe!

PS – I have mega hair envy of Monica.

Kenzy | Newborn Session | Little Rockstars in New Castle

It’s always good to see old friends, so I was happy when my high school friend Derek contacted me about doing a newborn session for his new daughter, Kenzy! So I got to meet Kenzy, Derek’s older daughter Gwen, and Derek’s beautiful wife Mallory!

I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to book geeky couples. Because I’m a geek, and I fly my geek flag proudly. Sriram is a computer science professor, so he has some serious geek cred. (Although he made fun of me for my Purdue Engineering degree, since he teaches at Rose. Blah blaaaaah.)

These two… well, they are hot geeks. Proving once again, that us geeks rule the world with our brains and hotness.

I can’t wait for their Indian/American wedding in June!

PS – Malia had the giggles… which is VERY common. Just go with it. Embrace the giggles. See how cute she looks?

PPS – Of all the warm winter days we’ve had, we picked the most FREEZING day to shoot. Mega props to Malia for acting warm although she was freezing.
